Let’s Talk About the End Before We Have To

End-of-Life Planning, Support & Legacy Services

There is no cure for life. Death comes for us all. The good news is we don't have to wait until we're in the middle of it to start talking about it.

As a death doula, my work focuses on helping individuals and families prepare for the end of life, navigate the hard parts when they get there and find ways to honor the people we love after they have left us.

At the heart of everything I do is connection. I meet people where they are, listen without judgment and help them navigate this journey with what matters to them most.I don't believe there is one right way to prepare for death, grieve a loss or say goodbye. Just like I believe a good death looks different for everyone, I believe people deserve to have a say in all of it.

How I Can Help

Prepare

Let's Get Our Ducks in a Row

I offer a practical, down-to-earth approach to getting your end-of-life affairs organized before someone else has to figure them out for you.

Let's Get Our Ducks in a Row is a guided end-of-life planning program designed to help you get organized, think through the things that matter to you and make sure the people you love aren't left trying to piece everything together later.

We'll cover everything from advance directives and important documents to your pets, digital accounts and all those “oh shit, I never thought about that” details. This program includes my end of life planning workbook to help you work through it all and create a plan you can actually use.

Available virtually and in person.

Looking for a group program? Check the Events page for upcoming sessions or contact me about bringing the program to your organization, workplace, community group or event.

Support

You Don't Have To Figure This Out Alone

End-of-life isn't only difficult for the person who is dying. Families need support too.

I offer compassionate support to individuals and families as they navigate the end of life, whether you're facing difficult decisions, trying to understand what's happening, advocating for someone you love, or simply need another person beside you who understands how overwhelming this can be.

My nearly 20 years working in EMS gave me a high level of health literacy and a firsthand understanding of what families can experience during medical emergencies and end-of-life situations. I can help you understand what's happening, find your footing and feel a little less alone in it.

Death Cafés also fall under this part of my work. They're an opportunity to talk openly about death, dying, grief and what a good death means to each of us, without judgment or the expectation that there's one right answer.

Available virtually and in person. Check the events tab for my next Death Café. Contact me to discuss individual or family support or to bring a Death Café to your community or organization.

Legacy

What Do You Want To Leave Behind?

Legacy work isn't just about what happens after you're gone. It can be a way to make choices, tell your story and hold onto a sense of control when so much may feel out of your hands.

I help individuals explore what they want their legacy to look like and how they want to be remembered. Maybe that's writing your own obituary or deciding what you want included in your eulogy. Maybe it's creating a short autobiography, recording videos, writing letters for the milestones you'll miss or putting together a cookbook filled with your favorite recipes and stories.

Legacy work can also mean sorting through your belongings, deciding what you want to keep and who you'd like to have the things that matter to you. There isn't a right or wrong way to leave something behind. The question is simply: What do you want people to remember about you?

This work can be especially meaningful when you're facing the end of life. Knowing you're getting ready to die is scary, and while I can't change that, I can help you focus on the things you still have a say in and the parts of your story you want to carry forward.

Reclaiming Their Legacy is a very special program I offer. It creates a space for people who have lost someone to suicide or overdose to come together without judgment, talk about their loved one and create a legacy project focused on who that person was beyond the way they died. Because your loved one mattered too and deserves to be remembered for more than the way they left this world.

Available virtually and in person.

See the Events page for upcoming programs or contact me about individual legacy work or bringing Reclaiming Their Legacy to your organization, community or private group.

There Is No One Right Way To Do This

Maybe you're someone who wants every detail planned out six months in advance. Maybe you haven't even thought about what you want your end of life to look like. Maybe you're caring for someone right now and suddenly find yourself having conversations you never expected to have. Maybe you're grieving and don't know what comes next. Wherever you are, that's where we start.

My job isn't to tell you what your death, your grief or your family's experience should look like. It's to listen, help where I can and give you a place to ask questions, make plans, talk honestly and figure out what matters to you.

You don't have to have everything figured out before you reach out.
